Pelvic Health Therapy: You’re Not Alone — And You’re Not Stuck

Are you walking around wondering if anybody else is experiencing what you’re feeling?

Many adults live with pelvic health challenges for years before seeking answers — often unsure whether what they’re experiencing is “normal”, or something they should just learn to manage.

For some women, symptoms begin as early as menstruation. For others, symptoms may appear during pregnancy, postpartum or later in menopause.

For men, symptoms often start after a seemingly minor incident such as a urinary tract infection — maybe one that never quite felt like it fully resolved. Over time, that discomfort lingers, treatments stack up, and relief feels incomplete.

At NOLA Pelvic Health, we want you to know this:

Many pelvic health symptoms are common — affecting up to 50% of adults at some point — but that does not mean they are inevitable or something you have to live with.

You don’t have to stop running.

You don’t have to avoid social plans.

You don’t have to plan your day around bathrooms, pads, or pain.

We’re here for you!

What We See in Our Clinic Day In and Day Out:

  • Pelvic pain or discomfort

  • Urinary leakage or urgency

  • Bowel symptoms (constipation, incomplete emptying, hemorrhoids)

  • Core weakness or instability concerns

  • Pelvic pressure/heaviness/bulging

  • Pain with intercourse, penetration, or intimacy

  • Postural, breathing, or movement dysfunction

  • Symptoms that flare with exercise or stress

Pelvic health rarely exists in isolation. It often overlaps with orthopedic, nervous system regulation, lifestyle factors, and movement habits — and we treat it that way. We take a full body approach and listen to your story so we know what’s important to you and how can we keep that in your life!

Our Philosophy

We believe:

  • Pelvic floor issues are rarely solved by kegels alone

  • Strength and relaxation and coordination all matter

  • Education improves outcomes

  • Good rehab should translate to real life

  • Most people could benefit from pelvic floor therapy at some point in their life

Your plan is individualized — built around your goals!

What Treatment Looks Like

Care may include:

  • Mobility and strength progression

  • Pelvic floor coordination and awareness

  • Breath and pressure management strategies

  • Gradual return to exercise or activity

  • Hands-on care when appropriate: such as therapeutic dry needling, cupping, and soft tissue mobilization

Our goal for you is independence, not endless visits.

Are Internal Pelvic Floor Exams for Everyone?

Not always. Internal pelvic floor assessment can be helpful for some — but it is never required and always discussed beforehand and comfort and necessity is reassessed at every session.

Pelvic health care is collaborative, respectful, and consent-based.
