Condition Overview

Rectal pain is pain that occurs in the lower part of the GI tract including the rectum and anus. It may or may not be accompanied by bleeding.

It can have various causes including but not limited to anal fissures, hemorrhoids, constipation, pelvic floor dysfunction, or diseases such as Chron’s Disease or Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
